Palm describes its new smartphone
Palm has unveiled what it describes as its smallest smartphone ever. The details are still under wraps but the company released a broad overview yesterday at a Sprint conference.
Firstly, the new phone won't carry the Treo name. Instead it will be known as the Centro and is essentially the Palm "Gandolf" which was leaked onto the net a few weeks ago.
The phone will run the Palm Garnet OS, not Windows Mobile and will, not surprisingly considering it was announced at a Sprint event, be carried by the Sprint network.
Gearlog, who attended the event, got their hands on the Centro, and were less than impressed with the tiny keyboard saying, "It's infinitesimal: it's actually impossible to type on this thing with two thumbs."
A Palm representative at the event covered this by reportedly saying it was aimed at the 'youth market'.
