Palm responds to Engadget's open letter

A few days ago those concerned chaps at Engadget wrote an open letter to Palm where they listed the actions that they thought the once-glorious PDA / smartphone manufacturer had to take to complete with companies like RIM, HTC and Motorola.

The general consensus was that Palm was resting on its laurels, not innovative enough and not exciting enough.

It seems that Palm are taking this very seriously.

CEO Ed Colligan posted back on Palm's blog and although he doesn't agree wholeheartedly with all of Engadget's criticisms, he is taking them seriously enough to bring it to attention of his executive board.

"Although I can’t say I agree with every point, many are right on," said Colligan. "We are attacking almost every challenge you noted, so stay tuned. Let’s remember that it is very early in the evolution of the smartphone and there is enormous opportunity for us to innovate. We have only just begun to fight!"
