Samsung readies new Blackjack
The FCC have done it again and revealed the inside scoop on a smartphone.
This time it's the new version of the Samsung Blackjack - the SGH-i617.
The 617 is evolution, not revolution. The design is little changed, and the connectivity options are identical - quad-band GSM/EDGE, and HSDPA on the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz band. There is bluetooth, but regrettably no WiFi.
There are reports that the 617 will run Windows Mobile 6 Standard, so no touchscreen unlike the recently announced SGH-i780 which will run on the WM6 Professional OS.
The camera resolution has also reportedly been increased to a respectable 2 mega-pixels.
