Dellphone rumours resurface
A rumour from earlier this year that Dell was planning to enter the smartphone market has reappeared thanks to a report from Forbes that discusses the potential project with reference to Dell's plan to emerge from a recent business slump.
Dell shut down production on its Axim range of PDAs last year, but in April Digitimes reported that they were talking to Taiwanese company Quanta Computer about a new smartphone. At the time launch was slated for this quarter, but that looks extremely unlikely now.
The Forbes report could merely be rehashing an old rumour, but the blogosphere is placing some credence on this one.
