Nokia handsets to use tactile feedback
Samsung has it. LG has licensed it, but hasn't yet used it. Now Nokia is going to start making handsets using Immersion's VibeTonz tactile feedback technology.
Tactile feedback allows phone and software developers to precisely control the type and strength of vibration to create a greater range of effects than the traditional on-off of a vibrating handset.
Under its license with Immersion, Nokia has the right to use the VibeTonz Mobile Player in any of its cell phones or smartphones sold worldwide, but has not yet revealed any product details.
VibeTonz is already in use in 4 million Samsung handsets worldwide.
