Asus planning ultimate smartphone

Many companies are manufacturing what they consider to be the ultimate smartphone (i-mate are even daring to call theirs the 'Ultimate'), but Asus appears to be about to release a handset that may have the edge over all of them.

The Asus P750 is a Windows Mobile 6 powered smartphone with a Marvel 520 MHz PXA27x CPU, 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM and GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA at 3.6 Mbps.

Additional connectivity comes in the form of WiFi and Bluetooth. It has a built in GPS receiver and an FM radio as well as a, more than satisfactory,  3.2 megapixel camera.

Launch is rumoured to be in October, but it is not known yet is this mean Asia, Europe or North America.

The only thing missing is the QWERTY keyboard which may yet serve to deprive the P750 of the "ultimate smartphone" tag.
