GPS SatNav from TeleNav on T-Mobile Austria

T-Mobile Austria customers may never again have to stop to ask for directions, worry about carrying around paper maps, or buy expensive navigation devices for their cars. They can now receive turn-by-turn GPS-enabled voice and on-screen directions directly from their BlackBerry smartphone through a new service called TeleNav GPS Navigator.

The service is available immediately on four BlackBerry smartphones - the BlackBerry 8800 (with built-in GPS), the BlackBerry Pearl, the BlackBerry 8700 and the BlackBerry 7130 (all require a Bluetooth GPS receiver).

"TeleNav's SatNav service means any T-Mobile customer with a supported BlackBerry smartphone can get all the benefits and features of an in-car navigation system, but directly on their mobile device. It's convenient, it's easy to use, and it means you'll never get lost again," said Robert Chvátal, CEO of T-Mobile Austria.

For just €8 per month, T-Mobile Austria customers can now get unlimited and convenient access. Users key in their destination, or preplan it on www.telenav.eu, and TeleNav GPS Navigator calculates their route. As they drive, they will get up-to-the minute guidance and will automatically be re-routed if they miss a turn. Subscribers can also preview their routes before they begin driving and specify preferences including avoiding motorways and taking the shortest or fastest route. The service includes full-colour 3D moving maps.

With TeleNav GPS Navigator, T-Mobile Austria customers always have access to up-to-date European maps and millions of business and community addresses and phone numbers at their finger tips. Users can look up businesses and services, including ATMs, Wi-Fi hot spots, restaurants, hotels and petrol stations and either easily navigate to them with the click of a button or place a telephone call to them from their handset.

T-Mobile Austria customers can now also use TeleNav GPS Navigator to provide them with directions when traveling in Western Europe. Maps and business listings will automatically be updated to reflect local information.

TeleNav GPS Navigator includes many tools which make it convenient, relevant and easy-to-use. Features include the ability to mark waypoints to help customers find their way back to a location or to mark points of interest. Customers can also save as many business or residential addresses as they want in their "My Favorites" folder for easy access at any time. Since the service runs directly on T-Mobile smartphones, customers can also switch to pedestrian mode and use the SatNav to guide them while walking to a parked car or through crowded city centre streets.

T-Mobile Austria is providing a 30-day free trial of TeleNav GPS Navigator. To activate the service, use the free scratch card included with the purchase of all new BlackBerry 8800 smartphones. Customers with other supported BlackBerry devices can sign up through T-Mobile or through TeleNav (www.telenav.eu). A Bluetooth GPS receiver is required for non-GPS enabled mobile handsets.
