Nearly a million HTC Touch units sold
Sources at HTC have revealed that sales of the Touch smartphone are not lagging too far behind those of its main rival, the Apple iPhone.
800,000 units have shipped in three months, which compares favourably with the million units sold by Apple.
The Touch has not yet launched in the lucrative US market, whereas the iPhone has so far been confined to North American shores, so the comparison is not 100% fair. However, both handsets are spreading their reach in the next few months so expect a clearer comparison before the end of the year.
HTC announced a followup to the Touch, the Touch Dual earlier this week.
