iPhone battery life expectations raised
Every single word that emerges from Apple about the iPhone is dissected, cross examined and hyped, but the news today that the iPhone battery has three hours of extra talktime has been greeted with justified delight.
Of course, the iPhone is more than just a phone and the eight hours of talktime announced today equates to 6 hours for web surfing, 7 hours for video playback and 24 hours for audio playback, while the iPhone will also offer a solid 250 hours of standby time.
However, the average iPhone user with mix and match those applications so the real battery life is likely to be a lot less than your average 'dumb' phone.
The iPhone is currently 2G so if a 3G version is unveiled for the European market later in the year expect talktime figures to drop because of increased battery demands.
